Cookie policy

A short list, because we use a short list. No ad trackers, no retargeting pixels.

01

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Related technologies — local storage in particular — do a similar job. Together they let a site remember things between page loads.

We use very few of them, and none for advertising.

02

What we store on your device

Strictly necessary, stored in local storage and never sent to us:

  • aureagle-cart — the contents of your shopping bag, so it survives a refresh
  • aureagle-wishlist — the products you've saved
  • aureagle-theme — whether you chose the light or dark theme
  • aureagle-newsletter — an email address you entered into the signup form on this device

Analytics, set by Google Analytics 4:

  • _ga — distinguishes one visitor from another, expires after two years
  • _ga_* — keeps session state for this specific property, expires after two years
03

What we don't use

We do not run advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, cross-site trackers, or social media tracking pixels. We do not sell or share any of this data with advertisers.

04

Why we use analytics

Google Analytics tells us, in aggregate, which products people look at, which pages they leave from, and whether the site works on their device. That's how we decide what to fix and what to make next.

It's anonymised — we can't see who you are from it.

05

How to turn them off

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its privacy settings. You can also install Google's official opt-out browser add-on to stop Analytics specifically.

Blocking analytics has no effect on the store. Blocking local storage will mean your bag, wishlist and theme choice are forgotten between visits, but you can still browse and order.

Clearing your browser data removes everything listed above.

06

Third-party cookies during checkout

Payment gateways set their own cookies when you pay, to keep the transaction secure and detect fraud. Those are governed by the provider's own policy, not this one.

07

Changes

If we add or remove anything that stores data on your device, we'll update this page and the date shown alongside it.

For the wider picture on personal data, see the privacy policy.
